Tuesday: Read the article "How To Write the Perfect Pitch", linked from Google Classroom. After reading it, answer the 5 questions for Super Summaries to yourself. Use those answers to choose a topic for the article you want to contribute to our newspaper, and write a pitch. A pitch should be two paragraphs max and convince me to include your article in my newspaper. Turn the pitch in on Google Classroom by Wednesday.
Wednesday: Starting with the summary you wrote yesterday, expand it into a full rough draft of your article. Use the inverted article pyramid here as your outline for the article. Turn your rough draft in to Google Classroom by Friday.
Thursday: Read your article to another person and ask them the following questions: What is my stance - am I for this topic, or against it? Do I have any bias - am I making decisions based on feelings, or facts? If written correctly, your audience will be able to answer those questions based on your writing. If the audience is unable to answer, you need to rewrite your article to be more clear.
Friday: Work time on the rough draft article. Any research that needs to be done should be finished today.
