Monday: Sonnet analysis of "I shall forget you presently, my dear" by Millay
Not much homework this week as long as we get everything done in class! If homework does end up being assigned, a Remind will be sent out.
Test Corrections:
To improve your grade on the test, here are instructions. Test corrections may not be turned in after Friday, 9/16.
If you missed a root word question: Look up five English words that use the root and write their definitions.
If you missed a vocabulary word: Go ask three teachers to use the vocabulary word in a sentence, then write the sentence down.
If you missed a Bloom's question: Make up a homework assignment that tests one of the levels of the ladder. Do this for three different levels.
If you missed a simple/compound or complete/incomplete sentence question: Write ten complete, simple sentences of your choice, circle the verb, and underline the subject. Write ten complete, compound sentences of your choice, circle both verbs, underline the subject(s), and draw a box around the conjunction.
If you missed a poetry question: Look up a sonnet on your own (google Shakespearean sonnets or English sonnets), print it out or copy it down, and label the rhyme scheme using letters. Then, draw brackets around the quatrains and couplet, labeling them with Qs and Cs.
If you missed a rhyming question: Pick a word and write 5 perfect rhymes and 5 oblique rhymes.
