Happy October!
This week we are starting our project for the grading period. It will extend all the way to the end of the grading period, and will have many grades attached to it as we go through. Participation is the most important part of this project, because it will ultimately end up being a seventh-grade overall project, rather than something one or two students do as a group.
We are going to create a Google Site multimedia experience for The Dark is Rising. Students will be expected to contribute enrichment media that supports the book. This is really wide open! Everything from researched biographies to YouTube playlists are acceptable!
This week, the main homework is twofold. One, students need to create something that depicts or supports a scene from Part One: The Finding. This can ultimately be anything, but whatever is created should also come with a written explanation that Mr. Wyatt can grade. This will be due Friday.
Two, students will need to write at least one of the following:
This is also due Friday. Doing more than one writing portion will not be extra credit, but it will ease the grading by giving Mr. Wyatt more upon which to comment.

Two, students will need to write at least one of the following:
- A researched essay on Susan Cooper
- A short story from the point of view of a character other than Will
- Three poems of differing types related to Part One
